Night-Night, Bloop
When the pond turns dark blue at bedtime, Bloop hides behind a pebble: he's worried about the dark. Zuzu lights a bubble lantern and takes him out to say hello to it. They find the same pebbles and weeds as in the daytime, tiny glow-fish twinkling like stars, the moon shining on the water and their friend Tad fast asleep. Back home, Zuzu sings her softest song, and Bloop sings a sleepy bloop of his own.

Talk about it together
For grown-ups, after the story.

Try this tonight
A gentle part of the bedtime routine.
Say hello to the dark
Turn the big light off and take a torch or night-light on a slow walk around your child's room. Shine it on familiar things and say hello to each one: "Hello, bookshelf! Hello, teddy!" Then make up your own version of Zuzu's song: "Goodnight, teddy. Goodnight, shoes..."
Whisper it at bedtime
“Goodnight, pebbles. Goodnight, weeds. Goodnight, glow-fish, twinkle and sleep.”
A line from the story to say together at lights-out, even on nights you don't read it. Meet the characters in Zuzu & Bloop.
