Zuzu & Bloop · Episode 3 · about 7 min · Ages 2–6
Bloop's Big First Day
It's Bloop's very first day at Bubble Bay Kindergarten, and at the gate he suddenly feels wobbly. Zuzu sings him a goodbye song and promises to come back when the bubble clock fills the room with bubbles. Then Bloop finds someone even shyer than him, a little tadpole called Tad, and asks the bravest question of all: "Want to play?" After the swings, the curly shell slide, the sandbox and the toy cars, he has just one question for Zuzu.
- Saying goodbye
- Making friends
- Taking turns
Talk about it together
For grown-ups, after watching.
The lesson: Saying goodbye can feel wobbly, but your grown-up always comes back. And if you feel shy, you can ask: "Want to play?"
- How did Bloop feel when Zuzu said goodbye? What helped him feel better?
- Bloop asked Tad "Want to play?" What could you say to make a new friend?
Try this at home
Five minutes, nothing special needed.
Your own goodbye routine
Make up a goodbye for drop-off, like Zuzu's "Hug, kiss, wave bye-bye!" Practise it at home by sending a favourite toy to "kindergarten", and always say when you'll be back: after lunch, after nap, or "when the bubbles fly".
Shout along!
Little ones love joining in with these.
- Hug... kiss... wave bye-bye!
- I'll be back when the bubbles fly!
- Ready... steady... BLOOP!
- My turn... your turn!
- Tomorrow!
