Pebble & Splosh · Episode 6 · about 13 min · Ages 3–6
Sir Splosh the Kind
At bedtime, Papa reads a story about the Knights of the Riverlands, and Splosh falls asleep with a cooking pot on his head. In his dream he is Sir Splosh, a little knight with a shield, a red cape and a very slow steed, Grandpa Shellby. Princess Pebble is at the top of the old tower on Misty Hill, and there's a dragon up there! On the way, Sir Splosh stops to help everyone who needs it: Lady Amélie's hiding cygnets, a little bunny's kite and Monsieur Pierre's broken bridge. At the top of the tower he finds that the dragon, Dumpling, isn't scary at all. He's scared. Then Splosh wakes up at home, and he keeps on helping.
- Kindness
- Helping others
- Being brave
Talk about it together
For grown-ups, after watching.
The lesson: Real heroes don't fight. They help. When someone needs help, stop and ask, "What's wrong? How can I help?" And someone who looks scary might just be scared.
- Who did Sir Splosh help in his dream? What did he ask every time?
- Why was Dumpling crying? Was he really scary?
Try this at home
Five minutes, nothing special needed.
A helping quest
Play "kind knights" this week. Make a paper crown or helmet and go on a helping quest around your home, asking "What's wrong? How can I help?" At bedtime, talk about who you helped today.
Shout along!
Little ones love joining in with these.
- Be kind! Be brave! Help everyone!
- What's wrong? How can I help?
- Ready... steady... GALLOP! HOP! SPLOSH! FLY!
- Is he scary? NOOOO! He's our... FRIEND!
